Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire, a quiet area in the West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" place. People unfamiliar with the term often think that there is a separate island to the west of Montreal However, in reality the West Island is home to all things from Lachine west to the Lachine city. Lachine west. The West Island is frequently referred to as being the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her time there was not long. Brugel became an aspiring young lady in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. Her first ambition was to be an expert dancer. However, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew her dance partners she was able to have. In a recent interview with the Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels, I'm 6 feet and 1 inch." When I surpassed any male partner, I stopped. Bruce was among the former dancers that turned into acting. Her high school teacher school encouraged her in the right direction. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to go after a role in the annual school production. The school's production was a success and she was selected to play the lead part of Anne of Green Gables after she tried out. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Since then, she's appeared performing in over 60 plays, smaller and large. The most notable was when she landed the role of Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel appeared only on rare moments in the very first season of the series The Handmaid's tale. The only Canadian participant.
